We’re incredibly excited to be bringing back Live Tours for Solutions Not Sides flagship youth education programme next year, bringing Palestinian and Israeli speakers into classrooms, live and in-person, on a large scale for the first time since COVID-19 put a stop to this back in early 2020.
The tours will be taking place across England through the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. In-person workshops have the potential to be powerful, even transformative, experiences for young people who get to experience them. The Palestinian and Israeli peace activists who volunteer to share their stories with communities here in the UK are incredible role models, and are able to effectively model critical thinking, respectful disagreement, active listening and other key life skills for participants. The impact of these workshops is clear, with 45% of participants demonstrated embracing diverse perspectives; 52% of students attained our top empathy goal of humanising Palestinians and Israelis, and 27% demonstrated a shift towards a solutions-focused attitude.
